PCBoard Notify - Novell NetWare Version Copyright Rui Pereira,1991
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version: 1.00
Release Date: Nov. 13, 1991
PCBnotify will allow you to use your PCBoard bbs software as an email package.
The ability to notify its users of incoming new email, is inheritant of most
LAN email packages. PCBnotify will scan specific Pcboard conferences for
either new mail of all mail, either with the echo flag set or not, and then
search the Netware bindery for that user. It can also scan multiple servers,
by utilizing a common userid and password. Upon finding that individual, it
will then send them a SEND-like message telling them that they have new mail
in conference 'x'.
How to install PCBnotify:
1) Users who belong to both PCBoard and Netware must have the same names.
That is, in Syscon you can assign a "Full Name" to a NetWare UserID.
PCBnotify will compare the information in PCBoard against the names
in this NetWare field. As an example, my NetWare userid is FRPEREIR,
but my full name in NetWare is Roy Pereira, which is also my id in
PCBoard.
2) Make sure your NetWare users are able to receive a netware message.
ie. They must have run CASTON before they will receive any SEND
messages. Please note, PCBnotify does not use the SEND command, but
it does emulate its function, thus this limitation is NetWare's and
not PCBnotify's.
3) If you plan on scanning only new messages in PCBoard, you must first
initialize a High-Message-Pointer file with the maximum number of
conferences in PCBoard. This is done by using the -i option.
eg. PCBNOTFY -a1-200 -i200 -lc:\pcb\lmp.dat
4) From then on you can have PCBoard exit after receiving a call or have
PCBnotify run on a separate workstation that will run PCBnotify every
couple of minutes.
Command Line Parameters:
-a<list> Conferences (eg, 1-3,6,8,9-32).
You can specify conference ranges with the dash (-) and
separate them by using commas (,).
-c<fname> Location and name of the Pcboard Cnames.@@@ file.
-u<name> Netware userid for access to other LAN's <optional>
-p<password> Password to use for login of userid from above<optional>
